You may have noticed that I haven’t been playing much at all. I’m trying to find some firm footing with all that. But I really like Michael Cameron, owner of Uncommon Ground (wow, I did not try to make that pun). They’re celebrating 20 years, which is no small number when you’re talking about a business keeping people interested and excited, enough to come back often and tell friends who then tell other friends, even strangers. And I don’t mean to sound like I’m just playing this show out of duty or something, because that’s not true in the slightest. Rather, I think I need to play and it will be a good dose of Aaron-get-back-on-that-horse medicine.

A few years ago Michael took me up on top of the restaurant, where he showed me the urban garden Uncommon Ground had been developing. It was quite amazing — all the raised vegetable beds. They were even keeping bees. How many businesses do that? Anyway, I recently learned they’ve become the first certified organic rooftop farm in the nation. Check out this video.
