“Hmm…this could be a song.”
That’s the first thought I have before I record something in my iPhone voice memo app.
It’s usually the moment I have a little snippet of lyric I like, and some guitar pattern I’ve been fiddling with.
What does it sound like?
It varies.
But for “The Kindness of Strangers” it sounded like this:
So that’s where it started.
Here’s where it ended:
As you can tell, a lot changed. The key. The tempo. The melody.
But you don’t get to the end if you don’t have a beginning. So make sure, whatever it is you’re doing creatively, just start. Get it down!
