What Patrons Think about My Next Album

Over the past few weeks, a small group of patrons have been listening to early versions of my next album and sending thoughtful notes.

They’ve helped me hear things I would have missed on my own.
They’ve noticed lyrics that landed.
They’ve questioned parts that didn’t.
They’ve even debated which song should close the record.

I wanted to share a small snapshot of what they’ve been saying.

Always Together

  • “Great one to start the album. That chorus is so catchy.”
  • “Positive vibe, music and lyrics both.”
  • “The verses didn’t quite fit the refrain for me.”

Home Means You

  • “Very nice—like a warm blanket.”
  • “Touching and sentimental. The music feels magical.”
  • “Your higher register really stands out here.”

Forgiveness

  • “An easy favorite.”
  • “Honest and powerful.”
  • “Maybe the repetition at the end feels more like asking again than resting in forgiveness.”

Long Road Back to You

  • “Feels like a journey.”
  • “I really like the hook.”
  • “Strong lyrics about the work it takes after hurting someone.”

Still Standing Still

  • “A welcome lift in energy.”
  • “Witty lyrics.”
  • “The first verse was hard to follow at first.”
  • “Not sure it fits with the rest.”

All In My Head

  • “Different but familiar.”
  • “The intro pulled me in right away.”
  • “The ending gives hope.”

Shepherd

  • “Sweet and honest.”
  • “Peaceful and sacred feeling.”
  • “Maybe this could even be an ending song.”

Fargo, North Dakota

  • “This one brings a smile.”
  • “Absolute favorite.”
  • “Great groove. The chorus sticks.”

Is That Alright With You?

  • “Most compelling song so far.”
  • “This one didn’t resonate with me as much.”

On and On

  • “Soft and pure.”
  • “The line ‘the ordinary has its breakthrough’ really stood out.”

Shine On

  • “Fun sounds kept me interested.”
  • “The vocal effects distracted me a bit.”

To See You Smile

  • “The melody pulled me in right away.”
  • “Hopeful and supportive feeling.”

Thank You

  • “Simple and heartfelt.”
  • “I could send this to someone I care about.”

Quiet House

  • “Something about this is really cool.”
  • “Perfect song to end the album.”

Reading these notes has reminded me how much songs change once they are heard in real rooms, real cars, real kitchens.

The album is still taking shape.
Some mixes will change.
The sequence might shift.
A few songs may even fall away.

If you’d like to hear the rough versions and offer your own thoughts, you’re welcome to become a patron and join the listening group.

There’s no pressure to write anything long or formal. Even a single sentence can help.

Thank you for listening.
