I use these a lot to help me in my production and writing process. Or just for goofing around. Some of them my kids love, too.
This is an app for making beats. It’s great for when you’ve got some time on your hands (who are you, by the way?) or starting a new song when you want to stay at a certain tempo. I also use it to be inspired to NOT write yet another slow ballad!
When I start a new recording session, one of the first things I figure out is the tempo. I usually base that off of the work tape, and to find that I simply tap along with this app.
I would write about one song every other year if it weren’t for my Notes app. It’s one of two safety nets I have in place for my song ideas.
This is the second safety-net I have in place for song ideas. It doesn’t have to be pretty, it just has to be recorded somehow. Like the Chinese proverb: “the faintest ink is more powerful than the strongest memory.”
